Waalaxy alternative

The warm alternative to Waalaxy: a hundred people who know you, not a thousand who do not.

Waalaxy is the friendliest way into LinkedIn automation. Sign in to its cloud app, choose a template sequence, and invites start going out on a low-priced plan that opens with a free trial. That low barrier is its strength. Icebreakly is a different kind of tool. It sends no invites and no messages. You give it a short list of people you want as customers, and it comments on their posts in your voice until your name is one they recognize.

The short answer

Stay with Waalaxy if you are new to LinkedIn prospecting, want to test it at little cost and have a market big enough to learn on. Pick Icebreakly if your market is small enough that every poor first impression costs you, and you would rather put the effort into a short list. Waalaxy’s trial and Icebreakly’s trial can run next to each other while you decide.

Waalaxy and Icebreakly, side by side

These two tools do different jobs, so this is not a scorecard. The table says plainly what each one does, including everything Icebreakly leaves out on purpose.

Why warm first, even if you keep Waalaxy

01

Cheap to send does not mean free

When an invite costs next to nothing, the temptation is to send one to everybody. The bill arrives elsewhere. Each ignored invite to a genuine prospect is a first impression you do not get back, and in a market of a few hundred buyers that adds up fast. Icebreakly limits you on purpose: 100 monitored leads on Standard, 300 on Pro.

02

A template sequence is the one everybody else chose too

The template library is what makes Waalaxy easy. It also means other senders in your prospect’s inbox may be running a near-identical flow. A comment cannot be reused that way, because it has to answer a post that did not exist yesterday. Icebreakly drafts each one from the post itself and the Voice you trained.

03

It keeps watch while you are away from your desk

Your leads post at 7am, over lunch and on Sunday night. Icebreakly checks their profiles every day from dedicated cloud browser sessions and drafts a comment on each lead’s latest post, whatever hour it went up. Nothing is installed and no tab has to stay open.

04

Nothing is said in your name without your say-so

Approval mode holds every draft in a review queue until you approve, edit or skip it. For a founder whose reputation is the company’s reputation, that check matters. Autopilot exists for later, and it stays inside the guardrails you wrote into the Voice.

05

A visible path from stranger to conversation

Each monitored lead carries a touch count and a stage. Stranger for the first touches, Familiar at about five, Trusted at about twelve, Warm at twenty or more. When someone reaches the warm list, you send the invite yourself, and it goes to a person who has been reading your comments for weeks.

Who should stay with Waalaxy

Waalaxy is the sensible pick while the open question is whether LinkedIn outreach works for you at all. The trial and the low entry tier answer that on a small budget. It also fits founders and freelancers with a broad audience, where a friendly templated invite to a few hundred people a month is a reasonable way to find first customers. Icebreakly costs more than Waalaxy’s entry tier and covers far fewer people.

  • A low entry price, with a free trial of the paid plans before you pay
  • Fully cloud-based since July 2026, with no browser extension needed
  • Ready-made sequence templates, so a beginner can launch without designing a flow
  • An interface that people outside sales find approachable
  • Email finder credits, with email steps on the top plan
  • A large user base, particularly in Europe

How to add warming without dropping Waalaxy

You can try this without giving up Waalaxy. Pick the names you care about most and give them a few weeks of a different treatment.

  1. 1

Choose the 50 to 100 accounts that matter most

Open the list you already prospect from and mark the people where one signed deal would change your quarter. Fifty to a hundred names is plenty. Everybody else stays exactly where they are today.

  2. 2

Leave those names off your Waalaxy campaigns

Keep the chosen people away from any Waalaxy sequence while they warm. Invitations are capped each month on every Waalaxy plan anyway, so spend them on the wider list and save these accounts for a hand-written invite later.

  3. 3

    Add their LinkedIn profile URLs

Create a comment campaign, connect your LinkedIn account and paste in each person’s profile link. From then on Icebreakly checks each of those profiles every day and drafts a comment on the person’s latest post.

  4. 4

Train a Voice on the way you write

Set the tone, the usual length and the language. Say whether you use emoji. Paste in a handful of comments you have written yourself and list anything that is off limits. Drafts then read like you and answer what the person posted.

  5. 5

    Begin in Approval mode

Each draft lands in the “Needs your review” queue with its touch number on it. Approve it, edit it or skip it. When the drafts stop needing edits, move the campaign to Autopilot and it posts inside your guardrails, at roughly one comment per lead per day.

  6. 6

Reach out when the tracker says they know you

A lead becomes Familiar at about five touches and Trusted at about twelve, which is when they join the warm list. That is the moment for an invite or a message. Write it by hand, or put the lead back into your sequencer with an opening line about the conversation under their posts.

Waalaxy alternative: common questions

Is Icebreakly a free alternative to Waalaxy?

No. Neither tool automates anything for free once a trial ends. Waalaxy keeps a free Freemium mode, but its help center says that mode cannot run automation, so campaigns need a paid plan. Icebreakly’s free plan is a 7-day trial with one campaign, ten monitored leads and one LinkedIn account in Approval mode. Paid plans are $49 a month for Standard and $99 a month for Pro. If the priority is the lowest price for automated invites, Waalaxy’s entry tier is the better fit.

Why pay $49 for 100 leads when Waalaxy contacts more people for less?

Because the two numbers measure different things. Waalaxy’s figure is how many strangers receive an invite. Icebreakly’s is how many chosen people get a thoughtful comment from you every time they post, for as long as they stay on the list. If your market is large and any reply is a good reply, the cheaper reach wins. If you have a hundred accounts that could each be a large deal, being known by them is worth more than reaching a thousand others.

Do I need a Chrome extension for Icebreakly?

No. You connect your LinkedIn account in the app and Icebreakly works from a dedicated cloud browser session. Nothing is installed and nothing has to stay open on your computer. Leads are added by pasting LinkedIn profile URLs.

Can a beginner use Icebreakly?

Yes, and there is less to learn than with a sequencer because there is no flow to design. You add LinkedIn profile URLs, train a Voice with a few examples of how you write, and start in Approval mode, where every draft waits for you. The harder part is the one no tool does for you: deciding which people are worth warming.

Does Icebreakly find leads for me?

No. Icebreakly does not search for, scrape or import leads, and it has no Sales Navigator import. You bring the list as LinkedIn profile URLs. If you already build lists in Waalaxy or another tool, pick the best names from there and paste their profile links in.

Can I use Waalaxy and Icebreakly at the same time?

Yes. Keep Waalaxy for broad prospecting and use Icebreakly for the short list you most want to win, making sure those names are not also in a Waalaxy sequence. Remember that LinkedIn counts the activity of every tool on your account together, so keep the overall volume modest.

Is commenting risky for my LinkedIn account?

Any third-party tool carries some risk. Icebreakly keeps its activity small and human-paced: about one comment per lead per day, no bursts, from a dedicated cloud browser session, with the option to use your own proxy. It sends no connection requests and no messages, which are the actions LinkedIn limits most tightly. In Approval mode you see every comment before it is posted.
