HeyReach alternative

The warm alternative to HeyReach: more familiarity, not more senders.

HeyReach answers LinkedIn’s weekly invite cap by adding accounts. Ten senders, ten times the invites, one inbox for the answers. It is very good at that. Icebreakly starts somewhere else: with how many of the people you are about to contact have ever seen your name. Then it works on that number, by commenting on their posts in your voice until they have.

The short answer

Stay with HeyReach if you are an agency or sales team whose model is volume across many LinkedIn accounts, with client workspaces and a shared inbox. Pick Icebreakly if each sender has a defined set of accounts worth winning and you would rather those people recognized the sender than received one more rotated invite. An agency can keep HeyReach for delivery and add Icebreakly for each client’s short list.

HeyReach and Icebreakly, side by side

These two tools do different jobs, so this is not a scorecard. The table says plainly what each one does, including everything Icebreakly leaves out on purpose.

Why warm first, even if you keep HeyReach

01

Ten senders reach ten times as many strangers

Rotation multiplies how many invites leave the building. It does not change how any single one is received. Each still comes from a person the lead has never heard of. Icebreakly works on the other axis: the same hundred leads, seeing the same name again and again, until the name stands for something.

02

A like is a tap on the shoulder. A comment is a conversation.

A HeyReach sequence can view a profile, follow it or like a post before the invite goes out. Those steps help. None of them involves writing anything. Icebreakly reads each new post from a monitored lead and drafts a reply in the sender’s Voice, so what the lead sees is a person with something to say about their work.

03

Several colleagues can warm the same buying group

Pro includes three LinkedIn accounts in one team workspace, and more can be added. A founder, an account executive and a solutions engineer can each run a campaign from their own profile. The CFO at a target account then sees three people from one company turning up with something useful, weeks before anyone asks for a meeting.

04

Agencies get work the client can read

Sent and accepted counts are abstract. A client can open LinkedIn and read the comments posted under their name, and in Approval mode you or they sign off each one first. The warming tracker shows which target accounts have moved from Stranger to Familiar to Trusted.

05

Both tools speak MCP, for different jobs

HeyReach’s MCP server lets an assistant manage outreach campaigns. Icebreakly’s server at mcp.icebreakly.com offers 63 tools for comment campaigns: add or remove monitored leads, review and approve pending comments, read warming stages, tune a Voice. With both connected, one Claude conversation can check who is warm and help you decide who gets an invite next.

Who should stay with HeyReach

HeyReach earns its place when conversations started is what you are paid for. An agency running twenty-five client accounts needs rotation, separation between clients and one screen for answering replies, and HeyReach was designed around exactly that. If your clients judge you on meetings booked this month from a wide market, a warm-up that takes four to six weeks will not replace it. It can sit beside it.

  • Sender rotation: one campaign shared across many LinkedIn accounts
  • A single inbox that gathers replies from every connected sender
  • Separate workspaces and white-label options designed for agencies
  • Flat agency bundles that make a large sender count affordable
  • An MCP server, an API and webhooks, with hand-offs to email tools such as Instantly and Smartlead

How to add warming without dropping HeyReach

Nothing needs migrating. HeyReach keeps sending to the wide list. You carve out the accounts each sender most wants to win and warm those separately.

  1. 1

Choose the 50 to 100 accounts that matter most

Open the list you already prospect from and mark the people where one signed deal would change your quarter. Fifty to a hundred names is plenty. Everybody else stays exactly where they are today.

  2. 2

Keep those accounts out of HeyReach rotation

Remove the chosen leads from active HeyReach campaigns and leave them off the lists you import, so no rotated sender invites them mid warm-up. Where you can, warm from the account that will eventually own the relationship and keep your other senders for volume.

  3. 3

    Add their LinkedIn profile URLs

Create a comment campaign, connect your LinkedIn account and paste in each person’s profile link. From then on Icebreakly checks each of those profiles every day and drafts a comment on the person’s latest post.

  4. 4

Train a Voice on the way you write

Set the tone, the usual length and the language. Say whether you use emoji. Paste in a handful of comments you have written yourself and list anything that is off limits. Drafts then read like you and answer what the person posted.

  5. 5

    Begin in Approval mode

Each draft lands in the “Needs your review” queue with its touch number on it. Approve it, edit it or skip it. When the drafts stop needing edits, move the campaign to Autopilot and it posts inside your guardrails, at roughly one comment per lead per day.

  6. 6

Reach out when the tracker says they know you

A lead becomes Familiar at about five touches and Trusted at about twelve, which is when they join the warm list. That is the moment for an invite or a message. Write it by hand, or put the lead back into your sequencer with an opening line about the conversation under their posts.

HeyReach alternative: common questions

Is Icebreakly a HeyReach alternative for agencies?

It is a different approach, not a substitute for sender rotation. HeyReach runs cold outreach across many client accounts and collects the replies. Icebreakly sends no invites or messages. It lets an agency run comment campaigns from several client LinkedIn accounts in one workspace, so each client becomes a familiar name to a chosen list of accounts. It suits agencies whose clients sell large deals into a small market, where being known by the right fifty people matters more than a few hundred extra invites.

How many LinkedIn accounts can I run on Icebreakly?

The free trial and the Standard plan each cover one LinkedIn account. Pro includes three accounts, 300 monitored leads and unlimited campaigns in a shared team workspace, and every extra account on Pro is $40 a month. HeyReach is built for much larger sender counts, so if you need fifty accounts sending invites, that is still its territory.

Does HeyReach comment on posts?

According to its help center, HeyReach’s sequence steps cover connection requests, messages, InMail, profile views, follows, post likes and finding an email address. Writing a comment is not among them. Icebreakly is built around that one action: a comment drafted for each new post from a monitored lead, in a Voice trained on the account owner.

Can HeyReach and Icebreakly run on the same LinkedIn account?

They can, but think it through first. LinkedIn sees the combined activity of every tool connected to an account, and each tool holds its own logged-in session. A cleaner split is to warm from the account that will own the relationship, such as a founder or an account executive, and keep volume outreach on other senders. If you do share an account, set the sequencer’s daily limits low.

What can an agency show a client?

Icebreakly’s dashboard shows posts found, comments posted and posts liked, for today and for all time, along with pending approvals. The warming tracker lists every monitored lead with a touch count and a stage. The client can also read the comments on LinkedIn, which is the plainest evidence of the work.

What happens once a lead is warm?

Leads with twelve or more touches appear on a “warm and ready to reach out” list. Icebreakly stops there on purpose. The invite or message is yours to send by hand, or you add the lead to a HeyReach campaign with an opening line that continues the conversation from their posts. Either way the first message is no longer the first time they have seen the sender’s name.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The free plan lasts seven days and covers one campaign, ten monitored leads and one LinkedIn account in Approval mode. That is enough to add a handful of real target accounts, approve the first drafts and judge whether the comments sound like the person they are posted for.
